2026 Volvo XC60: Release Date, Redesign, Specs. If you are looking for a handsome and attractive designed SUV, then the 2026 Volvo XC60 is worth waiting for. The latest media reports reveal that the new version is coming, and we should expect its introduction later this year. Besides attractive and refreshed styling, Volvo will also offer XC60 with three different powertrains.
Best of all, Volvo’s cars are the safest on the road. The last XC60 received a five-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). It includes standard features like a lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and semi-autonomous driving mode with adaptive cruise control.
2026 Volvo XC60 Engine Specs
Like the previous model, Volvo offers three engine choices in its 2026 XC60. The first one is the T5 base 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4, available with FWD or all-wheel-drive AWD. This engine can generate 250 horsepower, and it delivers excellent low-end torque. The T6 powertrain is optional, available only in the AWD XC60 models. This supercharged and turbocharged version consists of a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder that cranks out 316 horsepower and a stout 295 lb-ft of torque.
The top offer is a T8 hybrid powertrain that uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged/supercharged inline-4, electric motor, and excellent battery. Unlike the other engines, this one delivers outstanding 400 (or 415) peak horsepower and 472 lb-ft of torque. On top of all the above, a hybrid model is very efficient with a combined 27 mpg, 58 MPGe. All XC60s employ a refined and smooth 8-speed automatic transmission.
2026 Volvo XC60 Redesign
In terms of design, the forthcoming 2026 Volvo XC60 will continue to look assertive and elegant at the same time. The various trim levels are on offer and depending on it, XC60 provides different flavors.
The most popular is the R-Design model that looks particularly sporty compared to the regular one.
This model features a gloss-black grille and many other sporty cues. However, the Inscription brings more chrome accents, while the Polestar model stands out from the rest with gold brake calipers and attractive 22-inch alloy wheels.
Interior Looks Premium
The Volvo XC60 continues to be available in the form of a 2-row/5-seater premium compact SUV/crossover. This segment is crowded with competitors and models like Acura RDX, Audi Q5, BMW X3, and Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class, are the main ones. On the positive side, the latest XC60 offers all-day comfort, thanks to standard Nappa leather upholstery, front sport seats, heated and ventilated front/rear seats, and a heated steering wheel as well. Behind the 2-seater rear bench, there are 22.4 cubic feet of cargo area with a flat floor that can be expanded to 63.3 cubic feet when the rear seats are folded down.
On the tech side, the 2026 XC60 comes with a new infotainment system, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration, along with a 10-speaker/330-watt audio system.
Release Date and Price
The release date of the XC60 will probably happen this year. The new 2026 Volvo XC60 T5 Momentum starts at about $41,000, plus a $995 destination fee. Suppose you want an AWD, the price will jump by $2,300 more. A T6 Momentum that comes with all-wheel-drive as standard starts at around $47,000, while the T8 Momentum Hybrid costs $55,000.
The most expensive is a Polestar XC60 (PHEV), starting at about $70,000. Overall, as you can see, the new XC60 is a bit pricier than the competition like Acura RDX, Lexus NX, Infiniti QX50.
